A SIMPLE YET BRILLIANT PRINCIPLE IS THE FOUNDATION FOR THE TROUGH LEVERAGE CONCEPT: WHEN TWO SIDES OF A BALANCE ARE (WELL) BALANCED, THEY WILL HAVE A TENDENCY TO EQUILIBRIZE. THAT MEANS THAT THE HIGHER END GOES DOWN, AND THE LOWER END GOES UP, UNTIL THE TWO ENDS FIND EQUILIBRIUM. THIS IS A BALANCED EFFECT IN TERMS OF ENERGY AND MASS, EXCEPT THAT IT DOES TECHNICALLY CREATE MOTION FROM REST (E.G. THE MOTION COULD BEGIN BY MASS DISPLACEMENT WHICH DOES NOT REQUIRE SIGNIFICANT RESISTANCE). THE TROUGH LEVERAGE DEVICE IS DESIGNED TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MOTION FROM REST THROUGH THE USE OF A FIXED, SUPPORTING TRACK, WHICH HAS THE EFFECT OF CREATING AN IMBALANCE BETWEEN EQUAL WEIGHTS IN EQUILIBRIUM. IN MY EXPERIMENTS I HAVE PROVEN THAT EVEN IF A MOBILE WEIGHT POSITIONED ON THE TRACK HAS LESS MASS, IF IT MOVES TO A POSITION OF GREATER LEVERAGE, IN SOME CASES IT HAS THE ABILITY TO LIFT THE COUNTERWEIGHT AGAIN. IT IS AT THIS POINT THAT PROPORTIONALITY COMES IN. I HAVE FOUND THAT IN CERTAIN RATIOS, (A) THE MOBILE WEIGHT DOES INDEED RETURN UPWARDS, (B) THE MOBILE WEIGHT ALSO HAS FORCE TO ACTIVATE THE LEVER AT THAT POINT, (C) THE LEVER HAS THE FORCE TO RETURN UPWARDS AGAIN WHEN THE MOBILE WEIGHT MOVES OFF IT. (D) THE MOBILE WEIGHT CAN BE LIFTED IF IT ENDS IN THE LOWER POSITION, OR ACTIVATE THE NEXT LEVER, WITH THE PREVIOUS LEVER RISING, IF IT ENDS IN THE UPPER POSITION. SINCE THE MOBILE WEIGHT IN THIS CONFIGURATION HAS THE POWER TO CREATE ENERGY FROM REST, AND THE COUNTERWEIGHT HAS RECOVERABLE MOTION, A SERIES OF EIGHT OF THESE DEVICES POSITIONED IN A CIRCLE WOULD THEORETICALLY CREATE PERPETUAL MOTION! THERE ARE SOME ADDITIONAL STIPULATIONS: 1. THE LEVERS MUST BE EXTREMELY LIGHTWEIGHT. 2. CERTAIN RATIOS MUST BE ADOPTED, APPROXIMATED IN THE BELOW DIAGRAMS. 3. TO EXTRACT ENERGY, PART OF THE MASS OF THE COUNTERWEIGHT MUST BE DISPLACED BY SOME SORT OF PULL MECHANISM. OTHERWISE, THE ONLY METHOD OF EXTRACTING ENERGY MAY BE PEIZO-ELECTRIC PLATES, SUGGESTING A LARGE SCALE. 4. BECAUSE THE MOTION OF THE MOBILE WEIGHT IS MOSTLY HORIZONTAL, A METHOD MUST BE FOUND, SUCH AS A ZIG-ZAG IN THE LEVERS, TO MAKE SURE THAT THE MOBILE WEIGHT CAN MOVE IMMEDIATELY FROM ONE LEVER TO THE NEXT WITHOUT LOSING (MUCH) ALTITUDE. 5. OBVIOUSLY, EACH OF THE LEVERS HAS AN IDENTICAL FIXED TRACK, WHICH IS PART OF THE MODULAR UNIT, AND MUST HAVE A VERY SLIGHT UPWARDS ANGLE AND BE POSITIONED AT THE CORRECT DISTANCE FROM THE FULCRUM. 6. THE CARDBOARD OR OTHER CONSTRUCTION MATERIAL COMPOSING THE FIXED TRACK MUST BE EXTREMELY STRAIGHT AND SMOOTH, AND HAVE A GAP THAT IS WIDE ENOUGH TO PERMIT THE LEVER TO PASS THROUGH, AND NARROW ENOUGH TO SUPPORT THE MOBILE WEIGHT ON BOTH SIDES.
