Spinning Top Concept #1
Spinning Top Concept #2
LEFT: A concept using a
spiral that rolls upwards as
the weighted arm rolls
slightly downwards. A
counterweight can be used
to create spring which
allows the arm to return to
its initial position, perhaps
by using a tilting slope
underneath.
LEFT: A cleverer concept
using the angle of a
cam-shaft to prevent a
weighted arm from moving
backwards as it moves
along a slight
outwards-curving spiral.
This is helped by the angle
of the cam-shaft.
